END OF SEASON!
Flowering in the nursery has finished and our 2025 season has now ended. Thank you to everyone who has purchased from us this year. We wish you all an enjoyable holiday season.

Welcome to Twyford Irises where we specialise in growing mainly tall bearded irises in the beautiful and fertile Hawke’s Bay.

Irises purchased online will be sent bare-rooted via NZ Post courier from Monday to Wednesday (unless being collected from the nursery).

Our nursery also showcases the Hawke’s Bay Iris Collection, featuring bearded irises bred locally, including dwarf, median, border, intermediate and tall bearded irises. These are also for sale. Check out the HB Collection.

It’s easy to become addicted to these fabulous easy care plants. What other plant offers so many different varieties, colours and styles and what better gift than a living plant that will reward for many years to come.

Nursery Opening Hours during flowering only – Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm, usually from Labour Weekend until the end of flowering, about the middle of November. At other times by arrangement. Group bookings for visits to the nursery are welcome.

A large selection of bagged irises are available from the nursery all year round. Please contact us first if you are calling outside of the main flowering time. Orders from the previous year are collected directly from the nursery or if prearranged will be posted from February onwards.

Please be aware that plants may not always flower the first season. Also, some rhizomes are smaller than others. Just like us, they come in all shapes and sizes. All are healthy and will grow and flower for you.
