BBs and IBs

The Intermediate Bearded Iris (IB) range from 40 to 68cm overlapping the standard dwarf bearded (SDB) and the tall bearded (TB) iris bloom season. Although the IBs bloom early much like the dwarf bearded, their height allows for their individual stalks to show more branching than the dwarf Iris.

Border Bearded (BB) irises are similar in height to the IB, but with larger flowers. BBs will typically also have a thicker stalk to support the larger flowers. These tend to bloom at the same time as, or just before the TBs. 40 to 68 cm.
